How to Start Playing on Imperium MC
A complete beginner guide to joining, understanding, and thriving on the Rome-themed OP Prison Minecraft server.
1. Connecting to the Server
Imperium MC runs on Paper 26.2 and supports both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition players. Java players can connect directly. Bedrock players (mobile, console, Windows 10) join through Geyser, which translates the connection automatically.
Server IP: play.imperiummc.net
Open Minecraft, click Multiplayer, Add Server, and enter the IP above. No mods or resource packs required to start. The server sends its custom texture pack automatically on join.
2. Understanding the Rank System
Imperium MC uses a Roman-themed rank ladder. At launch, there are ten ranks (I through X), starting from Servus (the free starting rank) and climbing through Peregrinus, Plebeian, Libertus, Eques, Patrician, Consul, and Imperator. Each rank costs more Denarius than the last, but unlocks better mines, higher payouts, and new features.
Rank progression is purely grind-based. You earn Denarius by mining blocks and selling them to NPCs. The more you mine, the faster you rank up. No real money can buy rank progression. Store purchases only provide cosmetics and convenience perks.
3. Earning Your First Denarius
When you spawn, you start at Rank I (Peregrinus) with access to the first mine. Mine blocks by punching them with your pickaxe. When your inventory is full, type /sellall to sell everything to the NPC shop. The sell price depends on your rank, pickaxe enchants, and active boosters.
The economy is player-driven. Prices adjust based on supply and demand. Higher ranks unlock more valuable blocks, so ranking up is the fastest way to increase your income per hour.
4. Pickaxes and Enchantments
Your pickaxe levels up as you mine. Each level grants bonus fortune (more blocks per break) and token multipliers. You can fuse duplicate enchantments at the Enchant Forge to push them toward their maximum cap. Over 126 custom enchantments exist, from Vulcan Forge (auto-smelt) to Mars Fury (explosive mining).
Enchantments are earned, fused, and socketed entirely in-game. None are sold in the store.
5. Currencies Explained
- Denarius: Primary currency. Earned from mining and selling. Used for rank upgrades and the marketplace.
- Aureus: Premium currency earned through achievements and milestones. Used for crate keys.
- Auctoritas: PvP and achievement currency. Used for cosmetics.
- Civitas: Social and community currency. Earned through participation.
6. Joining the Community
Imperium MC has an active Discord community where you can ask questions, find legions (guilds), report bugs, and participate in events. The server runs seasonal events like Saturnalia and Lemuria that temporarily change the world and offer limited rewards.
Bug reports are welcome and may earn Aureus rewards at staff discretion. See our bug bounty details in the Terms of Service.
