Auction House
List items for sale to the whole server, browse listings, buy, and claim your earnings.
The Auction House (AH) is Imperium's server-wide marketplace. Instead of hunting for a buyer in chat, you list an item, set a price, and anyone on the server can browse and buy it. It is the safest and busiest way to sell gear, resources, cosmetics, and rare drops.
Opening the Auction House
Type /ah (or /auction) to open the AH menu. You can also reach it from the main /menu under the Trading section.
The menu has a few key views:
- Browse — every active listing on the server, sortable and filterable.
- Your Listings — items you currently have for sale, with the option to cancel.
- Expired — items that did not sell before their timer ran out, ready to collect.
- Claimed / Sold — Denarius waiting for you from items that sold while you were offline.
How to List an Item
- Hold the item you want to sell in your main hand.
- Type
/ah sell <price>— for example,/ah sell 50000lists the item for 50,000 Denarius. - For stackable items, add a quantity:
/ah sell 5000 64lists 64 of the item. - Pick a duration when prompted (1h, 4h, 24h, 48h).
- Pay the small listing fee and your item goes live for the whole server.
You can also list from the AH menu directly — drop the item into the listing slot, type a price, and confirm.
| Duration | When to use it |
|---|---|
| 1 hour | Quick flips. Best for items in high demand where you expect a buyer fast. |
| 4 hours | Good default for most gear and resources. |
| 24 hours | The standard listing. Most players browse daily, so this catches the most eyes. |
| 48 hours | Premium or niche items that need time to find the right buyer. |
Fees and Taxes
To keep the marketplace healthy and spam-free, the AH charges a couple of small costs:
| Cost | How it works |
|---|---|
| Listing fee | A small non-refundable fee in Denarius to discourage spam listings. Scales with your asking price. |
| Sale tax | A percentage of the sale price is taken when the item sells (similar to the 3% /pay tax). Keeps the economy balanced. |
| No fee on claiming | Picking up your unsold or sold-item earnings is always free. |
Because of the sale tax, the buyer pays the listed price but the seller receives slightly less. Factor this in when pricing expensive items.
How to Buy
- Open
/ahand browse, or use/ah search <term>to find a specific item. - Click a listing to see its details: price, seller, time left, and the item's full enchant/lore.
- Click Buy to confirm. The Denarius is taken from your balance instantly.
- The item appears in your inventory. If your inventory is full, it goes to your vault.
Always inspect the item's enchant levels and lore before buying. Listings are final — there is no refund for buyer's remorse.
Claiming Your Earnings
When your item sells, the Denarius (minus sale tax) is held for you. You do not have to be online when it sells.
- Open
/ahand check the Claimed / Sold tab. - Click to collect your Denarius into your balance.
- If an item expires unsold, it moves to the Expired tab — collect it to return it to your inventory or vault.
You can have multiple pending payouts stacked up. Claim them whenever convenient; they do not expire.
What Sells Best
The Auction House is where players trade everything the server shop will not:
- Enchanted pickaxes and books — high-level enchant books are the biggest sellers.
- Pre-built gear — armor and weapons with good enchants or custom names.
- Rare cosmetics and pets — exclusive trails, tags, and pets from crates or events.
- Banknotes — physical Denarius notes (
/withdraw) for cross-currency deals. - Crate keys and LootBoxes — trade keys to other players.
- Bulk resources — stacks of valuable blocks for crafters and builders.
Auction House vs Player Trading
The AH is best for asynchronous selling — you list and walk away. For face-to-face deals where both players put items in at the same time (and you want to bundle money plus items), use /trade instead. See the Player Trading article.
| Need | Best tool |
|---|---|
| Sell to the whole server while you do something else | /ah |
| Trade items + money together with a specific player | /trade |
| Quick cash for unwanted loot | /ah sell |
| Trusting a friend with a free set of gear | /trade |
Tips for Auctioneers
- Price check first. Search the AH for similar items before listing yours so you do not undercut yourself.
- Use the right duration. High-demand items in 1h; niche gear in 48h.
- Cancel and relist if stale. If an item sits for a day with no bites, pull it and reprice.
- Bundle stackables. Listing 64 at once is cheaper in fees than 64 single listings.
- Watch the Claimed tab. Sold-item payouts do not auto-deposit — collect them.
- Never list your pickaxe. Prison pickaxes are soulbound and cannot be listed anyway, but do not try to AH your best gear by accident.
