FAQ

The questions every new citizen asks, answered — pickaxes, ranks, money, and more.

The questions every new citizen asks, answered. Skim the sections below, or use /help and /next in-game for instant guidance. Still stuck? Our Discord community answers questions around the clock.

Just want the basics? Memorize /menu, /mines, /sellall, /rank, and /next. Everything else is reachable from /menu.

Getting Started

How do I join the server?

In Minecraft Java Edition, open Multiplayer, click Add Server, and enter play.imperiummc.net. Bedrock players (phones, consoles, Windows 10/11) can join through Geyser - see the Bedrock Guide for exact steps.

I just spawned. What do I do first?

Type /mines, pick Mine I, and hold left-click to mine blocks. In public mines every break pays Denarius instantly - no selling step needed. Then /rank to see how much the next rank costs. /next is your always-available hint button.

What command should I memorize first?

/menu. It opens the main menu and every other system is reachable from it. After that: /mines, /rank, /next, and /help.

Where is my pickaxe?

You spawn with one. If you ever lose it, type /pickaxe to reclaim it instantly with all enchants and levels intact. (The starter /kit - Tiro's Kit - carries food and torches, not a pickaxe.)

Pickaxes & Mining

Do I lose my pickaxe if I die?

No. Prison pickaxes are soulbound - they cannot be dropped, traded, or permanently lost. They even auto-repair. If one goes missing from your inventory, /pickaxe brings it back.

Only special pickaxes can hold enchants?

Your prison pickaxe is soulbound - that tag, not the material, is what lets it hold Imperium enchants. A plain crafted pickaxe mines fine but never levels or enchants. /pickaxe always restores your real one.

Why is my income so low?

Usually one of three things: (1) you are mining a low mine - climb to the highest mine your rank allows; (2) you have no income enchants - buy Denarius Boost and Auctoritas Boost from /enchant; (3) your mining streak reset - keep mining without 8-second pauses.

How do I mine faster?

Buy mining-speed enchants, level up your pickaxe, join a legion with the Mining Boost upgrade, pop a Mining Speed Booster, and unlock the Super Breaker ability (sneak-right-click with pickaxe).

Ranks & Prestige

How do I rank up?

Mine blocks (each break pays Denarius instantly in public mines), then type /rankup when you can afford the next rank. /rank shows your current rank, the next rank, and the cost.

What happens when I prestige?

You keep your rank - prestige adds permanent multipliers (money, tokens, mining, XP, sell), two extra enchant slots per level, and a prestige title on top. Your Denarius, Auctoritas, and Civitas reset to zero; Aureus, cosmetics, legion, and vault are kept. See the Prestige article.

Should I save my Aureus for /prestige skip or prestige normally?

Prestige normally when you can - it is the full experience. /prestige skip jumps straight to the next prestige tier for Aureus (15 base, +15% per tier), which is best saved for one-off pushes or catching an alt up.

Economy & Money

What are the four currencies?

Denarius (money, from mining), Auctoritas (tokens, for enchants), Civitas (red beacons, for legions), and Aureus (premium, from voting/crates/store). See the Economy article.

How do I get Aureus for free?

Vote daily (top 5 voters each month win Aureus), open crates (some drop Aureus), reach major prestige milestones, and claim monthly rewards. Voting is the most reliable free source.

Is there a tax on my money?

No active wealth tax today - the progressive wealth-tax system (100,000+ Denarius, hourly) exists in the config but is currently switched off. /pay transfers are tax-free too; the only recurring sink is the 5% sell tax that feeds the seasonal festival pool.

How do I trade with another player?

Stand near them and type /trade <player>. Use the two-confirmation window to swap items and money safely. For just sending Denarius, use /pay <player> <amount>.

Crates & Keys

How do I get crate keys?

Vote (every vote gives a Vote Crate Key), reach monthly vote milestones, be online for Vote Parties, open other crates (some drop keys), buy from the store, or receive them from events.

Is there a pity system?

Yes - per store crate line. Every buyable crate line carries its own pity counter (12-25 opens depending on the line) that guarantees a rare reward if you go dry. Type /crate to see your pity progress on the lines you open.

Should I save keys or open them as I get them?

Save them for bulk opening. Bulk opens still count each individual open toward pity, and stacking a Crate Luck Booster on top makes a pile of keys much more reliable.

Legions & Community

Should I join a Legion?

Yes, as early as possible. Even a small legion's permanent boosters (money, tokens, mining speed) beat playing solo, and the shared vault and weekly Aureus payouts are huge. Find one in Discord or chat.

How do I create a Legion?

Type /legion create <name> - creation is free. You become its Leader and can invite players, buy upgrades with Civitas, and compete for weekly Aureus payouts.

Is PvP required?

No. PvP is opt-in and concentrated in the PVP Mine. Spawn and most public mines are safe zones. You can play for years without ever swinging a sword at another player.

Technical & Account

Can I play from Bedrock (phone/console)?

Yes. Imperium runs Geyser, so Bedrock players join with no extra software. See the Bedrock Guide for the exact server address and controls.

How do I link my Discord?

Type /link in-game to get a 6-character code, then enter it on the website dashboard or run /link <code> in Discord. Linking unlocks full dashboard access.

I was banned. How do I appeal?

Type /appeal <reason> in-game (if you can connect) or open an appeal in our Discord. Provide your username, the ban reason if you know it, and your case.

The game lags. What can I do?

Try /texturequality low if you use the cosmetics pack, lower your render distance, and check /ping to see your latency and the server TPS. If it persists, ask in Discord - staff monitor performance.
