Progression

Ranks & Prestige

Climb the cursus honorum from Proletarius to Divus Maximus across 100 ranks, then prestige through eight active tiers.

Ranks are the main way you progress in Imperium. You start at Rank 1 and climb to Rank 100. Each rank gives you better mines, a bigger sell multiplier, and a new Roman title. When you hit Rank 100, you can prestige for permanent bonuses and start over even stronger.

How to Rank Up

  1. Mine blocks and sell them to earn Denarius. (/mines then /sellall)
  2. Type /rank to see your current rank, the next rank, and how much it costs.
  3. When you can afford it, type /rankup.
  4. Your rank goes up by one. Repeat.

Example: You are Rank 1 (Proletarius). /rank shows the next rank is Rank 2, cost 500 Denarius (ranks 0–9 ride the FTUE ramp 500 × rank3.6; the classic 16000 × (rank+1)² curve takes over at rank 10). The rank 0→1 and 1→2 steps also skip the prestige cost multiplier, so the first rank-up stays purse-affordable on every prestige. Mine a few hundred blocks, type /rankup, and you are now Rank 2 (Captivus).

What Each Rank Gives You

Every rank you gain makes you stronger in several ways:

PerkHow it grows
Better mines unlockedMine N unlocks at Rank N - content currently live through Mine XXV (Rank 25). Higher mines release in content patches.
Higher sell multiplierEach rank adds about +1.5% to all mined-block income. Rank 100 = 2.49x sell multiplier.
Stronger enchants availableSome enchants only unlock at higher ranks.
New Roman titleEvery rank has a unique title shown next to your name.

The 100 Ranks and Their Titles

Ranks follow the Roman cursus honorum - the historical ladder of Roman political offices. Your title changes as you climb.

You do not need to memorize these - they appear automatically as you rank up.

Rank milestones (server-wide broadcasts)

When you first reach certain ranks, the whole server sees a broadcast:

Rank 10Mine X - Rubrum Quarry (diamond ore band, first broadcast tier).
Rank 25CONTENT CAP - Mine XXV, The Alpine Fief (gold/diamond blocks, Imperial Crown Ore signature). Everyone past R25 mines XXV.
Rank 26+Mine content holds at XXV - ranks keep granting sell multipliers, titles, and high-gate enchants.
Rank 100The final rank. You can now prestige.

Prestige: Reset for Permanent Power

When you reach Rank 100, you can prestige. This resets you back to Rank 1, but gives you permanent bonuses that make every future run stronger and faster.

How to prestige

  1. Reach Rank 100.
  2. Meet the prestige requirements (Denarius, Auctoritas, and playtime - check with /prestige).
  3. Type /prestige.
  4. You reset to Rank 1, but you are now permanently stronger.

/rank skip - Skip Ranks Instantly (Aureus)

If you do not want to grind every single rank, you can skip ahead using Aureus (the premium currency).

  • Type /rank skip to instantly rank up using Aureus instead of Denarius (requires the imperiummc.rank.skip permission).
  • The cost is 100 Aureus × your current rank and is debited through the audited economy ledger.
  • No extra cooldown beyond the normal 1-second rank-up pacing.

This is a paid shortcut. You earn Aureus from voting, crates, and the store. Most players save it for big jumps.
