Progression

Challenges

100+ long-term goals across five categories and five tiers — auto-completing, with a token-and-Aureus reward shop.

Challenges are long-term, account-wide goals that reward you for playing every part of Imperium. There are 100+ challenges across five core categories (Mining, Selling, Earning, Combat, Progression), each split into five difficulty tiers (I through V). Completion is fully automatic — there is no claim button. The moment you cross a challenge's threshold, the rewards land in your balances and a title flashes on your screen. Earned currencies then feed the Challenge Shop, where you spend them on pickaxes, keys, boosters, and more.

The Five Core Categories

Challenges are grouped by the activity they track. Each category has its own icon and color in the menu, and its own completion percentage so you can see at a glance where you are strongest.

CategoryWhat it tracksExample challenge
MiningBlock-break challenges — total blocks mined, or specific blocks (Coal, Iron, Gold, Diamond, Emerald, Redstone, Lapis, Deepslate, Netherrack, Ancient Debris, Stone).
e.g. Mountain Mover — mine 100,000 blocks for 5,000 tokens + 25 beacons.
Mining
SellingDenarius-sell-volume challenges. Tracks the total value of blocks you have sold via the Sarcina and /sellall.
e.g. Croesus — sell $100M worth for 100,000 tokens + 500 beacons + 30 Aureus.
Selling
EarningCurrency-accumulation challenges across Auctoritas (EARN_TOKENS), Civitas (EARN_BEACONS), and Aureus (EARN_GC).
e.g. Auctoritas Maximus — earn 500,000 tokens for $100K + 50 beacons + 3 Aureus.
Earning
CombatMob-kill challenges — generic (KILL_MOBS) or per-mob-type (Zombie, Skeleton, Creeper, Enderman, Warden), plus boss and arena-wave trackers.
e.g. Warden's Bane — kill 5 Wardens for 25,000 tokens + 100 beacons + 10 Aureus.
Combat
ProgressionRank- and prestige-reach challenges (REACH_RANK, REACH_PRESTIGE), plus quest completion and achievement counts.
e.g. God-Emperor — reach Prestige 25 for 200,000 tokens + 1,000 beacons + 75 Aureus.
Progression

Beyond the five core categories, the challenge config also defines Social, Collection, and Parkour challenge types (friend-making, pet/crystal/enchant collecting, course completion). These appear in the same menu and use the same tier system.

The Five Tiers

Every challenge is assigned a tier from I (easiest) to V (hardest). The tier drives both the difficulty and the reward size, and it color-codes the challenge in the menu so you can scan for the big payouts.

TierColorScope
Tier IGrayEntry-level — early-game goals.
Tier IIGreenBeginner — first week of play.
Tier IIIYellowIntermediate — mid-game milestones.
Tier IVGoldAdvanced — long-term grinds.
Tier VLight purpleEndgame — the hardest, most rewarding challenges.

How Completion Works

Challenges are event-driven, not claimed. As you play, the relevant activity updates your hidden progress counters:

  • Mining — every block break increments MINE_BLOCKS (and MINE_<material> for targeted challenges).
  • Selling — every Sarcina/manual sell increments SELL_ITEMS by the sell value.
  • Earning — token/beacon/Aureus gains increment the matching EARN_* counter.
  • Combat — mob kills increment KILL_MOBS (and KILL_<type>).
  • Progression — rank-ups and prestiges set your current REACH_RANK / REACH_PRESTIGE.

When your progress reaches a challenge's required threshold, the challenge completes instantly: a gold "CHALLENGE COMPLETED!" title plays, a chat message lists the rewards, the rewards are credited, and the challenge is marked done forever. You do not need to be in any menu or click anything.

Rewards

Every challenge pays out in one or more of the four currencies. The reward mix scales with the tier — tier I challenges might give 50 tokens, while tier V challenges can pay tens of thousands of tokens plus hundreds of beacons and dozens of Aureus.

Reward keyCurrencyNotes
tokensAuctoritas ⛁The most common reward. Funds Sarcina, armor, and skill upgrades.
beaconsCivitas ⎈Granted by mid-to-high tier challenges. Funds legions and extraction.
gcAureus 🪙Premium rewards on tier IV–V challenges. Funds /rankskip and cosmetics.
moneyDenarius $Direct cash, mostly on selling and earning challenges.

Rewards are credited with the reason challenge_reward, so you can identify them in your balance history. If a reward credit ever fails (rare), it is logged for staff to reimburse manually.

The Challenge Shop

Currencies earned from challenges do not just sit there — spend them in the Challenge Shop, accessible from the challenges menu. The shop stocks items across five categories, each priced in one of the challenge currencies (tokens, beacons, Aureus, or money).

Shop categoryWhat is sells
PickaxesPickaxe items and pickaxe-related rewards.
Crate KeysKeys for opening crates — spend challenge currencies on keys.
BoostersPersonal and server boosters as purchasable items.
SpecialMiscellaneous and event-specific items.
AureusPremium items priced in Aureus.

Your current token, beacon, and Aureus balances are shown right in the shop menu, so you always know what you can afford. Purchasing an item deducts the currency off the main thread (so it never blocks the click) and either delivers the item to your inventory or drops it at your feet if your inventory is full.

The shop is the main reason to chase high-tier challenges: tier V payouts of 100,000+ tokens unlock the expensive shop items (premium pickaxes, bulk crate keys, server boosters) that are otherwise hard to afford.

Tracking Your Progress

Open /challenges to see:

  • An overview tile per category, showing completed/total and a progress bar.
  • Click a category to drill into individual challenges — each shows requirement, your current progress, tier, and a completion checkmark.
  • The Challenge Shop button at the bottom of the overview.

Your challenge progress and completed set are persisted to a per-player data file, so they survive across sessions. The auto-save runs every 5 minutes (plus on logout), so even an unexpected disconnect loses at most a few minutes of progress tracking.

Leaderboards and Completion

The system tracks total completed challenges per player and exposes a top-players view for staff/admin use. There is also an admin command to manually complete or reset a player's challenges, used for support tickets and event rewards.

Tips

  1. Check the menu often. Because completion is automatic, you may have unclaimed-looking progress that is actually done — open the menu to confirm rewards landed.
  2. Targeted challenges pay better. Mining 500 Diamond Ore (tier IV, 2,000 tokens) pays far more per block than generic MINE_BLOCKS. Seek out rich ore veins.
  3. Sell in bulk. The selling challenges track total value, so a single big Sarcina sell pushes you forward just as much as many small ones.
  4. Do not reset prestig casually. Several high-value challenges are gated on reaching prestige milestones — make sure you have claimed those rewards before any reset that might affect tracking.
  5. Stack challenge currency for the shop. The best shop items cost tens of thousands of tokens; resist spending tokens on small purchases and save for the big ones.
