Augers
Placeable mining drills that chew a sphere of ore in your own private mine — six tiers from Plebeian’s to Jupiter’s Auger.
An Auger is a placeable mining drill you run inside your own private mine. Activate it and it chews through the ore around you in waves - a sphere of blocks broken, routed, and paid - while you stand in the middle (or watch from your porch). Blocks go to your Sarcina exactly as if you had swung the pickaxe yourself, and each broken block has a chance to spit a bonus Auctoritas token.

The first four tiers are bought with Auctoritas tokens (⛁ above), the two god-tier augers with Civitas (⬡). Every auger can be upgraded in level (10 levels for the Plebeian, Centurion, and Praetorian; 5 for the Caesar's and Pluto's; 3 for the Jupiter's) - each level widens the effective payout multiplier, with the upgrade cost scaling by about 1.5–2× per level.
Running a Drill
- Be inside your own mine - augers only operate in the fill region of a mine you own (this is the access rule, not a suggestion).
/auger use <type>starts the drill around your current position; one drill at a time (/auger cancelstops it early).- Waves fire through the run duration, breaking up to the per-wave block cap inside the radius sphere.
- Blocks route to your Sarcina (or drop naturally if it is full) and pay exactly once - beacons credit Civitas directly.
- Each block carries a token chance (10% × your drill's multiplier) for +1 Auctoritas.
Augers vs. the other machines: Automata mine while you are elsewhere, Auto Miners generate currency passively, and Servi Mechanici are a fuel-fed fleet. The Auger is the one you place yourself, in your mine, for a focused burst of real block-breaking.
