Progression

Battle Pass

A 50-tier seasonal track with free and premium rewards — earn XP from mining, quests, ranks, and prestiges.

The Battle Pass is Imperium's seasonal progression track — a 50-tier ladder with a free reward track for everyone and a premium track with bigger payouts. You earn Battle Pass XP from almost everything you do (mining, ranking up, prestiging, quests), and each tier you reach unlocks a free reward — plus a premium one if you have the premium track. At the end of each season, the pass resets and a new one begins.

The Season Structure

Each Battle Pass is a season: a named, time-boxed event with a fixed set of 50 tiers. The launch season is "Season 1: The Mining Age", running for 90 days. The season has a clear start and end time, and the pass is only "active" between those dates.

Your progress (total XP, current tier, and which tiers you have claimed) is saved per season in the database, keyed by both your UUID and the season ID — so when a new season starts, everyone starts fresh at tier 0.

How XP Is Earned

Battle Pass XP comes from 11 activity sources, each granting a fixed base amount. The biggest sources are the long-term goals (weekly quests, prestiges); the smallest is the per-block trickle that keeps the pass moving while you mine.

Bomb used25Detonating a mining bomb.

Hourly quest50Completing an hourly quest.
Rank up100Every rank-up in the cursus honorum.
Daily quest200Completing a daily quest.
Prestige500Every prestige reset.
Weekly quest1,000The biggest single source — weekly quest completion.

XP grants can be multiplied — when the system grants XP, it accepts a multiplier argument, so events, boosters, or premium perks can increase the XP per action. The base values above are what each action grants before any multiplier.

Tiers and XP Requirements

There are 50 tiers. Each tier requires a fixed amount of XP, and the requirement scales up as you climb — early tiers need ~1,000 XP each, while the final tiers need up to 60,000 XP. XP is cumulative: your total XP determines your tier, computed by summing the per-tier requirements up to your current tier.

The XP-per-tier curve (from the season config):

  • Tiers 1–10: ~1,000–2,000 XP each
  • Tiers 11–25: ~2,200–8,000 XP each
  • Tiers 26–40: ~8,500–20,000 XP each
  • Tiers 41–50: ~22,000–60,000 XP each

When you cross into a new tier, a gold "BATTLE PASS TIER UP!" title plays and the action bar confirms the unlock. The new tier's rewards are then available to claim.

The Two Reward Tracks

Every tier has two rewards: a free reward available to all players, and a premium reward available only to players with the imperiummc.battlepass.premium permission. Premium rewards are roughly 2–3× larger than the free equivalent, and the premium track also includes exclusive cosmetics at milestone tiers.

Rewards are a mix of Denarius, Auctoritas, and item-granting commands (pouches, cosmetics, broadcasts). The capstone tier 50 premium reward includes the exclusive Golden Laurel Wreath hat and Electric Trail, plus a server-wide broadcast announcing your dedication.

Claiming Rewards

Reaching a tier unlocks its rewards, but does not auto-grant them — you must claim. This is deliberate, so you can save claims for when you need the cash. Three ways to claim:

  • The GUI — open /battlepass menu and click any reached tier to claim its free (and premium, if eligible) reward.
  • /battlepass claim <tier> — claim the free reward for a specific tier.
  • /battlepass claim <tier> premium — claim the premium reward (requires the premium permission).
  • /battlepass claimall — the time-saver. Claims every available free and premium reward from all tiers you have reached, in one command.

The system tracks which tiers you have claimed per track (free and premium separately), so you cannot double-claim, and unclaimed rewards stay claimable even after the season would otherwise end.

Run /battlepass claimall periodically. Because rewards do not auto-grant, it is easy to forget unclaimed tiers — and the payouts at high tiers are large enough that you do not want them sitting unclaimed.

Premium Track Access

The premium track is gated by the imperiummc.battlepass.premium permission, which is typically purchased from the store. Once you have it:

  • You can claim the premium reward at every tier you reach.
  • Premium-exclusive cosmetics (trails, kill effects, the Golden Laurel) unlock at milestone tiers.
  • The free track is still available to you — premium is additive, not a replacement.

If you reach a tier without premium and later unlock premium, all the premium rewards for tiers you have already reached become claimable retroactively. You never lose progress by waiting.

Seasonal Resets

When a season ends, the Battle Pass resets for the new season:

  • A new season ID takes effect (e.g. season_2).
  • Every player's tier and XP reset to 0 for the new season.
  • Your previous season's progress is preserved in the database under the old season ID, for historical records.
  • New tiers, rewards, and cosmetics are loaded from the new season's config.

Unclaimed rewards from the ending season should be claimed before the season flips — while the data is preserved, the claim flow is built around the current active season. Treat the season-end as a hard deadline for claiming.

The season duration (90 days for Season 1) is configurable, so future seasons may be shorter or longer. Watch the in-game announcements for season-end warnings.

Strategy

  1. Mine constantly. The 1-XP-per-block trickle is the steady base. Over a 90-day season, a dedicated miner earns millions of XP from blocks alone.
  2. Do not skip weekly quests. At 1,000 XP each, weekly quests are the single biggest discrete XP source — missing them is the fastest way to fall behind tier pace.
  3. Prestige for the 500-XP payout. Each prestige gives a chunk of XP; if you are prestige-cycling anyway, time prestiges to push you over tier boundaries.
  4. Claim with /battlepass claimall. Set a reminder — unclaimed rewards are wasted rewards.
  5. Premium pays for itself. The 2–3× reward multiplier means premium players reach endgame wealth dramatically faster; the tier-50 cosmetics are also exclusive forever.
  6. Race for tier 50. The capstone broadcast and Golden Laurel are a server-wide flex — reaching tier 50 in a season is one of the most visible achievements in Imperium.
