PvP Mine

The richest ores in the empire, locked behind a free-for-all where anyone can kill you.

The PVP Mine is a single shared mine where player-versus-player combat is always on and the ores are the richest in the entire empire. A single successful trip can pay as much as hours in a normal mine - but anyone can attack you while you work, and dying means losing your spot and your momentum. This page is the complete guide to surviving and profiting in the PVP Mine.

How to Enter

  • Use /pvpmine, the PVP Mine warp at spawn, or the /menu PVP section.
  • Once inside, you are fair game. There is no consent prompt - entering is consent.
  • A small safe zone (PVP disabled) rings the entrance so you can catch your breath on arrival.

The mine resets roughly every 10 minutes. A server-wide broadcast warns first, then every player inside is evacuated safely above the fill zone - the reset never buries or kills you. Treat the timer as your session clock.

The Ores (Why People Risk It)

Block values in the PVP Mine are tuned to roughly double the best public mine, with the endgame blocks (debris, diamond and emerald blocks) spawning at meaningful rates - that premium is what you are being paid for the death risk.

BlockValue (Denarius)Notes
Netherite Block2,400The richest block in the game. Spawn is fiercely contested (weight 1).
Diamond Block900High value, rare (weight 2).
Emerald Block600Good value, slightly safer to reach (weight 2).
Ancient Debris300The endgame ore - far rarer in ordinary mines (weight 3).
Deepslate Emerald Ore180Dense pockets make for fast fills (weight 6).
Deepslate Diamond Ore130Reliable high-value target (weight 10).
Emerald Ore100Solid value at a friendly weight (weight 10).
Diamond Ore70Common high-tier ore (weight 15).
Deepslate Gold Ore56Steady mid-tier money (weight 8).
Fill stone / deepslate4-6The dense filler that keeps the mine mineable.

A focused 10-minute session with a decent pickaxe and Super Breaker can net hundreds of thousands of Denarius. The catch: so can everyone else, and they want your spot.

Combat Tagging

The moment you hit another player (or they hit you), you both become combat tagged for 10 seconds.

  • While tagged you cannot teleport, use /home, or run to a safe zone.
  • A timer shows on your screen. Wait it out before trying to leave.
  • Logging out while tagged locks you out for 5 minutes - combat-logging is never the escape.

Combat tagging is what stops hit-and-run tactics. If you commit to a fight, you are in it until the tag expires. Plan your escape before you swing.

Dying in the Mine (It's Softer Than It Looks)

A death here costs 20% of your carried Denarius, 20% Auctoritas, and 10% Civitas - but your equipped armor, your pickaxe, and both hands are kept (nothing drops, nothing vanishes). If a player killed you, they scoop 25% of the drained Denarius as spoils; if the mine or a fall killed you, the balance just drains. Respawn is a short 5 seconds with a 3-second spawn shield.

Everything you have earned still works here: pickaxe enchants fire (the PVP mine dispatches the full enchant pipeline), and pet, festival, and equipment bonuses all apply inside the mine. Bring the whole build.

Kill farming is policed: repeat kills on the same victim within 10 minutes decay the spoils (x0.5, then x0.25, then nothing), resetting an hour after the victim is left alone.

Kill Rewards, Bounties, and Killstreaks

EventReward
PVP death (any)Victim loses 20% of carried Denarius, 20% Auctoritas, and 10% Civitas.
Kill with a killerThe killer pockets 25% of the drained Denarius as spoils - boosted by PVP armor sets and combat enchants.
Death without a killerThe same balances drain with no spoils - dying to the mine itself is the worst outcome.
Killstreak 3 / 5 / 8 / 12Chat flare / Bellona’s Favor / server broadcast + Triumph key / a 250,000 Denarius system bounty on your head.
Bounty killWhatever pooled Denarius bounty was placed on the target (placements from 25,000; a 10% rake funds the board).

Bounties

Place a Denarius bounty on another player with /bounty <player> <amount> (minimum 25,000; a 10% placement rake funds the bounty board). Anyone who kills the target claims it. Bounties turn rivalries into profitable hunts and are the backbone of PVP events.

Killstreaks

Chain kills without dying to build a killstreak. Long streaks draw attention (and server-wide announcements), which means more players coming for you - raising both the glory and the risk. Track yours with /killstreak.

Combat Style: 1.8 vs 1.9

Imperium lets each player choose how combat feels for them:

ModeHow it feels
1.8 (legacy)No attack cooldown. Click as fast as you want; every hit deals full damage. Spam-click combat - most veterans prefer it.
1.9 (modern)Vanilla cooldown bar. Charge your sword for full damage. The default Minecraft feel.

Switch with /pvpmode 1.8, /pvpmode 1.9, or /pvpmode toggle. Your choice is saved and reapplied every login, respawn, or world change. Most veterans run 1.8 for the faster clicking.

Combat Abilities

Several abilities turn fights. Equip and cast them from /ability:

AbilityEffect
War Cry+25% outgoing damage for a short window. Pop it right before engaging.
Shield BashStrong knockback that can shove attackers off ledges or buy breathing room.
Mass DetonateFrom your pickaxe - instant-clear nearby blocks so you can grab loot and run.

What to Bring (and What to Leave Behind)

Do bring

  • The Gladiator's Kit from /kit - free armor and a sword so you never risk your mining gear.
  • Your prison pickaxe - it is soulbound and always kept on death, so mining with it is safe.
  • Your armor - equipped armor is kept on death; only your inventory contents drop.
  • Food and potions - sustained fights are won by who outlasts.
  • A friend or three. Numbers win the PVP Mine.

Do NOT bring

  • Banknotes or valuables you cannot afford to lose - your purse drains 20% on death.
  • A full Sarcina - sell with /sellall before entering so a death does not waste a full run.
  • Precious loose items - anything in your storage slots (not armor, not hands) drops where you fall.

Survival Tactics

  1. Mine the edges first. The center has the richest ores but is the most exposed. Work the perimeter and watch the middle.
  2. Keep auto-sell on. If you die, at least you banked everything you mined up to that second.
  3. Listen for combat. The hit sounds and tag timer are your early-warning system.
  4. Pre-cast War Cry before turning to fight - the damage spike wins 1v1s.
  5. Use Mass Detonate to instantly strip a pocket of ore and bolt before rivals arrive.
  6. Know your exits. Identify the safe-zone direction before you start mining so your escape route is muscle memory.
  7. Travel as a legion. A coordinated legion controls the mine and splits the spoils.

Safe Zones

Spawn (Rome) and most public mines are safe zones where PVP is disabled. The PVP Mine is the main place PVP is on. Remember: combat tagging blocks teleporting, so once tagged you have to walk out to safety - you cannot warp away.
