Equipment

Five Auctoritas-bought mining armor sets with stacking boosts, plus the custom-enchanted netherite PVP kit.

Equipment in Imperium splits into two completely separate systems. Mining armor is a set of cosmetic leather/chainmail pieces you buy with Auctoritas and level up to boost a specific resource (tokens, pickaxe blocks, shards, or gems). PVP kits are netherite combat gear with powerful custom enchants, handed out by admins for events, the Colosseum, and tournament play. This guide covers both — what exists, how to get it, and what each piece does.

Mining Armor — The Five Sets

Mining armor is the long-term Auctoritas sink for players who want to push their resource income. There are five sets, each with four pieces (Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, Boots), for a total of 20 equippable items. You can own up to 4 armor pieces at once per the equip limit, so most players build one focused set.

Every set grants a boost to a specific resource type while you mine. The boost scales with the piece's level: 1 + (mult_per_level × level). Higher rarity sets have a bigger multiplier per level and a higher max level, but cost more to buy and upgrade.

SetRarityBoostsBuy CostUpgradePer LevelMax Lvl
Token ArmorCommonAuctoritas tokens1,500500+10%40
Pickaxe ArmorCommonPickaxe blocks1,500500+10%40
Pickaxe Armor (Rare)RarePickaxe blocks (stronger)1,500500+25%40
Shard ArmorRareShards2,000600+15%50
Gem ArmorEpicGems2,500700+20%60

Each piece of armor is a separate purchase — the costs above are per piece, not per full set. A complete Gem set (4 pieces at 2,500 each) is 10,000 Auctoritas before any upgrades. Plan your token budget accordingly.

Set Bonuses and Boosts

Unlike PVP armor, mining armor does not have a "full set" damage bonus. Instead, every piece of a given set contributes its multiplier independently, and the effects stack additively across all four slots. A full set of Token Armor at level 20, for example, gives 4 × (0.1 × 20) = +800% Auctoritas from mining — a massive boost.

The boost type each set grants:

  • Token Armor — multiplies Auctoritas token drops while mining.
  • Pickaxe Armor — multiplies pickaxe-block-related income (the standard pickaxe boost).
  • Pickaxe Armor (Rare) — same pickaxe boost but at 2.5× the per-level rate (0.25 vs 0.1).
  • Shard Armor — multiplies shard drops.
  • Gem Armor — multiplies gem drops; the highest-capacity set (max level 60).

Buying and Upgrading Armor

Open the armor menu with /armor. From there you can browse, purchase, upgrade, and equip your sets. All armor purchases and upgrades are paid in Auctoritas tokens — never Denarius.

Upgrading

Each upgrade raises a piece's level by one and costs upgrade_cost × current_level tokens. So the first upgrade of a Token piece (base upgrade cost 500) at level 1 costs 500 tokens; at level 10 it costs 5,000. This scaling means high-level armor is a serious Auctoritas investment.

You can also gain progress passively: mining with a set equipped accrues progress toward its next level automatically (the progress_base + level × progress_per_level curve), so dedicated miners will see their armor climb even without spending tokens.

Rarity upgrades

The config defines a max_rarity: Legendary upgrade path with a 1.5× cost multiplier and a 30-second cooldown between upgrades. Higher rarity increases the multiplier per level, so pushing a set up the rarity ladder is the endgame armor goal.

Armor Info and Tracking

Use /armor info for a list of every set you own with its current level, or /armor info <set> to see a single set's level and progress toward the next. The PlaceholderAPI integration also exposes %armor_level_<set>% and %armor_boost_<set>% placeholders for scoreboards and chat.

Owning leveled armor also counts toward the ARMOR_SETS collection, so every level-up refreshes your collection progress — a nice side benefit on the way to collection rewards.

PVP Kits — The Combat Gear

PVP kits are separate from mining armor entirely. They are netherite armor and weapons loaded with vanilla Protection V / Unbreaking IV and a stack of custom combat enchants, granted through the admin command /givepvpkit <player> [type]. They are the standard loadout for the PVP Mine, Colosseum events, and admin-run tournaments.

The PVP Armor Set

Each of the four netherite pieces carries Protection V and Unbreaking IV, plus a piece-specific custom effect. Wearing the full set also grants a +5% damage boost per piece, stacking to a +30% total damage bonus with all four equipped.

SlotVanilla EnchantsSpecial Effect
PVP HelmetProtection V, Unbreaking IVMirror V — 2% chance to reflect damage.
PVP ChestplateProtection V, Unbreaking IVBloodthirsty — 20% chance of Strength III on crit.
PVP LeggingsProtection V, Unbreaking IV, Swift Sneak IIIFaster sneak while mining or fleeing.
PVP BootsProtection V, Unbreaking IV, Feather Falling IVReduced fall damage — survive the PVP Mine drops.

PVP Weapons

The kit includes a sword and an axe, each with a different combat identity. The sword is the sustained-damage option (combo stacking, anti-heal); the axe is the control option (slows, stuns, AoE).

WeaponVanilla EnchantsCustom Effects
PVP SwordSharpness VI–VII, Fire Aspect IV
  • Leech III — 10% health swap
  • Double Strike IV — 10% triple damage
  • Crushing Force — 0.1% armor reduction per hit
  • Combo Master — stacking damage (cap 40%)
  • Broken Heart — 10% anti-heal + hunger drop
PVP AxeSharpness VI
  • Cold Breeze V — 15% Slowness I (10s)
  • Double Strike IV — 10% triple damage
  • Seismic Slam III — 15% AoE for 3 hearts
  • Confusion III — 12% stun (3s)

The PVP Sword rolls Sharpness VI or VII at random when spawned — ask the admin re-rolling if you want the higher tier. Fire Aspect IV is fixed.

Getting a PVP Kit

Because PVP gear is powerful and soulbound to events, it is not sold in any shop. You receive it through:

  • Admin events — Colosseum tournaments, KOTH, and bracket fights hand out kits at the start.
  • The /givepvpkit command — admins (permission imperiummc.admin) can grant pieces on demand.
  • Full kits/givepvpkit <player> all gives armor + sword + axe + 16 enchanted golden apples.

The /givepvpkit types:

TypeWhat it grants
swordOne PVP Sword.
axeOne PVP Axe.
armorFull PVP armor set (Helmet, Chestplate, Leggings, Boots).
gapples16 Enchanted Golden Apples for healing in fights.
allEverything above: armor + sword + axe + 16 gapples.

Tips

  1. Focus one armor set. The 4-piece equip limit means spreading tokens across sets dilutes your boost. Pick the resource you care about and max it.
  2. Rare Pickaxe > regular Pickaxe. Same slot, same base cost, but 2.5× the multiplier per level — strictly better if you have the permission.
  3. Gem Armor is the endgame. Max level 60 and Epic rarity make it the highest-ceiling set, but it demands chainmail materials and 2,500+ tokens per piece.
  4. Equip PVP armor only when fighting. It does nothing for mining income. Swap back to your mining set (or no armor) when you return to the mines.
  5. Keep your gapples hot-keyed. In the PVP Mine, a clutch enchanted golden apple is often the difference between a killstreak and a death.
