Rift of Dis
Cast your pickaxe into the underworld — 500 Auctoritas per spin for tiered currency, enchant scrolls, and Charon’s Obol.
The Rift of Dis is Imperium's underworld gamble. Cast a charged pickaxe into the Rift, let Charon weigh it against the toll, and watch it descend into the dark — then pull a tiered reward back up from below. Soul particles rise, an ominous charge builds, and the underworld answers.
Every spin costs 500 Auctoritas and pays out from a weighted table. The expected value is tuned as a token sink with jackpot upside — most spins return currency, but the legendary tier hides Charon's Obol, one of the rarest trophy items on the server.
The Basics
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Command | /rift (aliases /wormhole, /wh) |
| Cost per spin | 500 Auctoritas |
| Requirement | Must be holding a pickaxe |
| Cooldown | 3 seconds between spins |
| Charge-up | 2-second animation while Charon weighs the toll |
Reward Tiers & Odds
A tier is chosen by weight first, then a reward is picked uniformly inside it:
| Tier | Chance | Possible rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 60% | $250,000 Denarius · 300 Auctoritas |
| Rare | 30% | $1,000,000 Denarius · 5 Civitas · Enchant Scroll |
| Epic | 9% | 25 Civitas · 10,000 Auctoritas |
| Legendary | 1% | Charon's Obol (nether star) · 100 Civitas |
The Enchant Scroll from the rare tier is the quiet star of the table — a physical route to enchant value that does not depend on your current unlock rank.
Strategy
- Treat it as entertainment with a floor. The common tier (60%) returns currency on every win, so a bad session still converts tokens into Denarius/Civitas.
- Do not spin your enchant budget. 500 Auctoritas is 10% of an Auctoritas Boost level-1 purchase — spinning below Rank 5 starves your early economy.
- The 3-second cooldown is real. Chasing the legendary 1% takes hundreds of spins; decide your spin budget before you start.
- Hold any pickaxe. The Rift requires a pickaxe in hand, but never consumes it — nothing you own is ever thrown away.
The Rift was originally a sci-fi "Wormhole" concept, re-flavored to the server's Roman underworld — the aliases /wormhole and /wh still work.
