Progression

Professions

Level all six crafting trades from 1 to 100 — blacksmith, armorer, alchemist, enchanter, jewelcrafter, cook.

Professions are Imperium's levelable crafting system: six independent trades you can grind from level 1 to 100. Unlike many servers where you pick one craft and are locked in, Imperium lets you level all six at once. Each profession has its own XP bar, its own recipe tree, and its own rewards — and every recipe you unlock consumes materials (and sometimes currency) to produce a useful buff, item, or bonus.

Professions are the long-tail companion to mining. Mining earns the raw Denarius and materials; professions turn those materials into things you (and other players) actually want. A maxed profession is a serious time investment, but the recipes at the top of each tree are some of the most powerful buffs and items in the game.

The Six Professions

Each profession covers a distinct slice of the crafting economy. They are independent — your Blacksmith level has no effect on your Cook level — so you can dabble in all of them or focus on one.

ProfessionWhat It Makes
Blacksmith (blacksmith)Forge tools, weapon components, and metal gear.
Armorer (armorer)Craft armor sets and defensive upgrades.
Alchemist (alchemist)Brew potions, flasks, and consumable buffs.
Enchanter (enchanter)Produce enchant reagents and enchantment aids.
Jewelcrafter (jewelcrafter)Cut gems, rings, and other precision trinkets.
Cook (cook)Prepare food buffs and restorative meals.

How Leveling Works

Every profession runs on the same leveling model. The cap is level 100, and XP is earned exclusively by crafting — there is no passive XP gain, no AFK training, and no shortcut.

As your level rises, the XP required for the next level rises too — early levels fly by, while the push from 90 to 100 is a real grind. Recipes that unlock at higher levels typically grant the same XP per craft, so the slow part is the XP curve, not the recipes.

Recipes & Unlocks

Each profession ships with a tree of recipes. A recipe has:

  • A display name and a short effect description.
  • An unlock level — the minimum profession level required to use it.
  • Material and currency costs (defined per recipe in the config).
  • An output: a buff, an item, or a bonus that takes effect when crafted.

When you run /profession info <name>, you see every recipe you have already unlocked, plus a preview of the next few locked recipes and the levels at which they unlock. This makes it easy to plan your crafting path — you always know what is coming next.

Crafting grants XP even on recipes you can already make. If you are pushing for level 100, the most efficient path is often to mass-craft a cheap, low-level recipe that uses abundant materials.

The /profession Command Family

CommandWhat It Does
/professionView all six professions, your current level and XP in each.
/profession listSame as above — list every profession and your status.
/profession info <name>Deep dive on one profession: description, level, XP, unlocked recipes, and locked recipes with their unlock levels.
/profession helpShow all profession commands and the list of profession IDs.

Tab-completion covers the subcommands and the six profession IDs (blacksmith, armorer, alchemist, enchanter, jewelcrafter, cook), so navigating the system is fast.

Reading Your Profession Panel

Running /profession shows a line per profession with your status. For each one, you see either “Not started” (level 0) or your current level and XP progress toward the next level. The output looks roughly like:

  • Blacksmith — Level 42 (1,840/2,200 XP)
  • Armorer — Level 0 (Not started)
  • Alchemist — Level 18 (420/600 XP)
  • Enchanter — Level 7 (90/150 XP)
  • Jewelcrafter — Level 0 (Not started)
  • Cook — Level 100 (max)

The footer reminds you to use /profession info <name> for recipe details — that is where you go to see what you can craft right now.

Why Level Professions?

The recipes at the top of each profession tree are some of the best buffs and items in Imperium. Depending on the profession and the server's recipe configuration, maxed crafters can produce:

  • Combat and pickaxe buffs from Alchemist and Cook recipes.
  • Gear and tools from Blacksmith and Armorer that other players want to buy.
  • Enchantment aids from Enchanter that complement the pickaxe enchant system.
  • Gems and trinkets from Jewelcrafter with permanent stat bonuses.

Because every player can level every profession, the choice is really about which to max first. A focused crafter who pushes one trade to 100 unlocks high-value recipes early and can sell the output on the /ah auction house.

Tips for the Crafting Grind

  • Pick one to focus first. Spreading crafts across all six dilutes your XP. Max one, then move on.
  • Mass-craft cheap recipes for XP. The XP per craft is fixed per profession, so the cheapest recipe is the fastest leveler.
  • Check /profession info before crafting. See what you can make and what unlocks next so you never waste materials.
  • Sell high-level output on the AH. Other players will pay well for recipes they have not unlocked yet.
  • Pair professions with mining. Mining stockpiles the materials and Denarius you need to fund your crafting habit.
  • Use a Legion vault. Share raw materials with legionmates so multiple crafters can specialize and trade outputs.
  • The 90–100 push is the real grind. Budget materials for it — the XP curve steepens sharply near the cap.

Professions are the only system in Imperium where your effort directly unlocks exclusive, tradeable output. A maxed crafter is a valuable asset to any legion and a steady source of income on the auction house.
