Mining
Break blocks, fill your Sarcina, and earn Denarius. The heart of the empire.
Mining is the heart of Imperium. You break blocks, you get paid. This page explains everything from your first swing to active mining abilities.
Your Pickaxe
You already have a pickaxe when you join. It is a special prison pickaxe - you can upgrade it with enchants and it never gets permanently lost.
Lost your pickaxe?
Your pickaxe is soulbound - if you drop it, die with it, or wipe your inventory, open /pickaxe and hit the Reclaim button. It comes back free with all levels and enchants intact. No kit needed.
Important: what makes a pickaxe a prison pickaxe is its soulbound tag, not the material - only the pickaxe the server issued to you can hold Imperium enchants. A plain craft-table pickaxe mines fine but never levels.
The Sarcina (Backpack)
When you break a block in a public mine, it never drops on the ground and never fills your backpack - it is auto-sold the instant it breaks and the Denarius lands straight in your balance. The Sarcina - your magical mining backpack - is where blocks from private mines collect until you sell them.
- Open it with
/backpack. - Private-mine blocks inside are sold when you run
/sellall. - Capacity starts around 10K blocks and doubles per capacity level you buy - it does fill up, so upgrade it.
- Right-click the Sarcina item in your hand to open its menu - you can sell directly from there too.
Sarcina vs inventory vs vault
The Sarcina is mining-only. Regular items you pick up (loot, gear) go to your normal inventory, and long-term storage lives in your /vault or a rented player cell. Only mined blocks enter the Sarcina.
You cannot lose blocks in your Sarcina on death - they are sold or carried with you. But if you are heading into the PVP Mine, sell first so a death does not waste a full run.
How to Mine
- Type
/minesand pick a mine you have unlocked (Mine I to start). - Walk into the mine area. You will see big walls of stone and ore.
- Hold left-click on a block to break it. Keep the mouse held down and look around to mine quickly.
- Each break pays Denarius instantly (public mines) or lands in your Sarcina (private mines).
- The mine refills itself when it gets about half empty, so you never run out.
What blocks are worth
Different blocks sell for different amounts, and every mine has its own block table - a gold block in Mine XXV is worth a fraction of one in Mine L. Cheap blocks (stone, cobblestone) pay pennies; the rare signature block of each table pays roughly 7× the base. Two live examples:
| Block | Approx. Denarius each |
|---|---|
| Mine I: Stone | 0.04 |
| Mine I: Cobblestone | 0.06 |
| Mine I: Iron Ore | 0.10 |
| Mine I: Coal Ore | 0.17 |
| Mine I: Lapis Ore (rare) | 0.39 |
| Mine XXV: Waxed Oxidized Copper | 13.98 |
| Mine XXV: Gold Block | 25.86 |
| Mine XXV: Diamond Block | 40.54 |
| Mine XXV: Chiseled Nether Bricks (rare) | 97.86 |
Higher mines have richer ores, so ranking up directly increases your income.
Mine Tiers and What They Contain
There are 100 public mines (Mine I through Mine C), each unlocked by your rank. Higher mines contain denser, more valuable ores. Climbing the mine ladder is the most direct way to grow your income.
| Mine range | Unlocked at | What you will find |
|---|---|---|
| Mine I - X | Ranks 1-10 | Stone and coal-tier hosts early, climbing to blackstone, diamond ore, and gold blocks by Mine X. |
| Mine XI - XXV | Ranks 11-25 | Copper, purpur, gold and diamond blocks. Mine XXV (The Alpine Fief) is the current content cap. |
| Mine XXVI - L | Ranks 26-50 | Values keep climbing - amethyst, cut copper, gilded blackstone (hundreds per block). |
| Mine LI - LXXV | Ranks 51-75 | Andesite/deepslate hosts worth thousands; diamond blocks common. |
| Mine LXXVI - C | Ranks 76-100 | The richest tables - gold blocks at Mine C can pay 220,000+ each. |
| PVP Mine | Walk in via the entrance (PvP always on) | Richest of all (~2× Mine X) - but death drops 20% Denarius / 20% Auctoritas / 10% Civitas. See the PVP Mine article. |
You can always go back to a lower mine if you want a quieter spot, but the ores there pay less. Always mine at the highest mine you have unlocked for maximum income.
Mine Resets and Refills
Public mines do not stay mined-out. Each one refills itself automatically as blocks are removed:
- A mine refills when it gets roughly half empty, so you never run out of blocks to break.
- Refills are instant - the walls pop back to full and ore distribution is rerolled fresh.
- Personal mines (
/mine) work differently: you control resets with/mine reseton your own timer.
Reset surfing: the moment a public mine refills, the fresh ore pockets are richest. Experienced miners hop between a couple of adjacent mines to catch resets back-to-back.
Personal mines
As you progress you can create a personal mine with /mine create <name>. It is yours alone (or shared with friends you invite), resets on your command with /mine reset, and can be made public for other players to visit and rate. See the commands table below.
Selling Your Blocks
Sell everything at once: /sellall
In public mines you never need to sell - every break pays instantly. The command matters for Sarcina hauls (private mines) and loose sellable items: type /sellall to sell everything at once, or /sellall <material> to sell only one material (for example /sellall cobblestone). You will see a chat message showing how much you earned.
You can also:
- Right-click the Sarcina in your hand to open its menu, then click the Sell button.
- Open the
/menuand click the Sell All icon (a chest minecart).
Auto-Sell
Auto-sell empties your Sarcina for you on a timer, so private-mine hauls convert to Denarius without the command.
- It unlocks after 1 hour of playtime; the auto-sell upgrade (faster intervals per level) is bought with Auctoritas in the Sarcina upgrades screen.
- Toggle it on/off from the Sarcina menu (right-click the Sarcina item, or
/backpack). - Your payouts grow with your prestige and rank, so selling pays more as you progress.
How the payout multiplier stacks
Your final per-block payout is the product of several multipliers:
- Base block value (the per-mine table above).
- Rank sell multiplier - roughly +1.5% per rank, up to ~2.49x at Rank 100.
- Prestige sell multiplier - +6% per prestige level (up to +150% at Prestige 25).
- Mining streak bonus - up to +20% while you keep mining non-stop.
- Enchant multipliers - Denarius Boost, multipliers, combo enchants.
- Legion upgrades - Money Boost and Auto Sell Boost from your legion.
- Active boosters - personal and server Money Boosters.
Because all of these stack multiplicatively, late-game players can earn hundreds of thousands of Denarius per block in the top mines. Rank up before anything else - the mine ladder is the biggest income lever in the game.
Mining Streaks (Free Bonus Income)
This is the most important thing to understand for earning fast: keep mining without stopping, and you earn more.
How it works
- Every 250 blocks you break in a row moves you up one streak tier.
- Each tier gives you +1% income on everything you earn while mining.
- There are 20 tiers, so the maximum streak bonus is +20%.
How to keep your streak
- Do not stop mining for more than 8 seconds. If you pause too long, your streak resets to zero.
- The action bar at the bottom of your screen shows your current streak tier and bonus in real time.
Example: If you are on streak tier 10, you earn 10% extra on every block. Mine fast and without breaks to keep that bonus high.
Pickaxe Leveling
Your pickaxe earns XP as you mine. As it gains XP, it levels up, which improves its base stats (mining speed, durability, fortune).
- You can see your pickaxe's level and XP by holding it and typing
/pickaxe. - Higher pickaxe levels make mining smoother and unlock the ability to equip more powerful enchants.
- Pickaxe XP comes automatically - just keep mining.
The real power-ups come from enchants. See the Enchants article for the full system.
Mining Abilities (Active Powers)
Once you unlock them, you have three powerful active abilities you trigger by sneaking and right-clicking with your pickaxe in hand:
| Ability | What it does | Cooldown |
|---|---|---|
| Super Breaker | 30 seconds of instant-break mining plus 2x Auctoritas tokens. | 5 min |
| Mass Detonate | Instantly destroys every block within 10 blocks of you. | 10 min |
| Token Storm | 60 seconds of 2x Auctoritas token drops. | 10 min |
You can also cast them with /ability cast <name>. Unlock them in the abilities menu.
Tips for New Miners
- Public mines pay instantly - every break lands Denarius in your balance. No selling step, no lost hauls.
- Mine non-stop to keep your streak bonus maxed. Even a few seconds of pause resets it.
- Go to the highest mine you have unlocked. Richer ores = more money per block.
- Buy enchants early. Even cheap enchants like Denarius Boost and Auctoritas Boost pay for themselves fast.
- Use
/nextif you are ever unsure what to do - it will tell you whether to mine, rank up, or prestige. - Try the PVP Mine once you have good gear - it has the richest ores in the game but other players can kill you.
