Supernova
Wrath of Mars — a chain-detonation endgame enchant that pays 100× block value on every fire. Mythic, Rank 100.
Supernova — known in-game as Wrath of Mars — is the mythic ENDGAME-category chain-detonation enchant. On a cooldown, it fires a two-stage explosion: a 3×3 primary blast at your break point, immediately followed by a 5×5 secondary blast, paying out 100× the block value on every fire. It is, by sustained money-per-second, the strongest income enchant in Imperium.
Supernova is a Legendary Enchant — see that page for the full mythic tier. This spotlight covers its mechanics, cost math, and strategy in depth.

The Chain Detonation
Unlike most enchants that fire on a per-block proc chance, Supernova fires on a cooldown. When the cooldown is ready and you break a block, Supernova triggers: first a 3×3 area around the broken block is mined (9 blocks), then immediately a larger 5×5 area is mined (25 blocks), and you are paid 100× the block value of the broken block as a bonus on top of the normal income from those 34 blocks.
The cooldown is 30 seconds / level: 30s at level 1, 15s at level 2, 10s at level 3, 7.5s at level 4, and just 6s at level 5. The payout and blast areas do not scale with level — only the cooldown shrinks — so higher levels mean more frequent 100× payouts.
| Level | Cooldown | Blast area | Payout per fire |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 30s | 3×3 → 5×5 | 100× block value |
| 2 | 15s | 3×3 → 5×5 | 100× block value |
| 3 | 10s | 3×3 → 5×5 | 100× block value |
| 4 | 7.5s | 3×3 → 5×5 | 100× block value |
| 5 | 6s | 3×3 → 5×5 | 100× block value |
Because the payout is 100× block value and not a flat amount, Supernova scales with your block value — which at Prestige 8 / Rank 100 with full multipliers can be enormous. A single Supernova fire at endgame can pay what an early-game player earns in an hour.
How to Obtain Supernova
Supernova requires Prestige 8 + Rank 100 to buy or apply. The realistic acquisition paths:
- Enchant books — the intended path. Level-1 books drop from the rarest crate tiers (Godly+) and are traded on the Auction House. Fuse two same-level books for +1 (guaranteed through level 5, then failure risk above).
- The
/enchantmenu — buy directly with Auctoritas. The 300,000-token base cost and ×3.0 scaling make direct purchase very expensive (see below). - Books cannot bypass the gate. Even with a book, you cannot apply Supernova below Prestige 8 / Rank 100.
Cost Math
Buying Supernova levels directly from the menu (EXPONENTIAL ×3.0 scaling):
| Level | Cost (Auctoritas) |
|---|---|
| 1 | 300,000 |
| 2 | 900,000 |
| 3 | 2,700,000 |
| 4 | 8,100,000 |
| 5 | 24,300,000 |
| Total to max | ~36.3M tokens |
Fusing two level-1 books is far cheaper for the early levels (5,000 × 2^(L-1) Denarius per fuse, guaranteed through level 5) — but you need two books per level, and books themselves are expensive on the Auction House.
Strategy
- Pair with block-value multipliers. Since Supernova pays 100× block value, every +1% multiplier on your pickaxe (Fortune, Phalanx, Prestige Mine, etc.) directly multiplies the Supernova payout. A multiplier-stacked pickaxe turns Supernova into a money cannon.
- Mine fast during the cooldown. The cooldown ticks down regardless of whether you are mining. Keep your blocks-per-second high (Efficiency + Haste) so every fire lands on a high-value block.
- Level 3 is the efficiency sweet spot. The jump from 10s to 6s cooldown (level 3 → 5) costs 32M tokens for a 40% frequency increase. Many players stop at level 3 and invest the rest elsewhere.
- Stack with other area-clears. Jackhammer, Explosive, and Void Rift fire independently — combined with Supernova, a single break can clear 50+ blocks and pay 100× the center block.
- Do not pair with Nuke. Nuke resets the mine, which can scatter you away from the high-value vein Supernova was about to fire on. Run one or the other, not both.
