Territory Control

Legions capture named regions of the map — holding territory grants passive bonuses to members.

Territory control is the map-level layer of legion warfare. Named regions of the game world can be captured and held by legions; the legion controlling a territory grants passive bonuses to every member while they hold it. Territory is distinct from but related to Outposts - Outposts are dedicated capture zones with a money/token boost, while territories are broader map regions that can apply a wider range of bonuses. Together they make up the "where your legion lives on the map" layer of the game.

How Capture Works

Territories are presence-based: a legion captures a territory by having enough members physically inside it for long enough, with no rival legion contesting. The exact threshold (members required, capture time) is configured per territory. Once captured, the territory flags as held by that legion, and the controlling legion's members receive the territory's bonus for as long as it's held.

Territories can be contested. If a rival legion brings enough members into a held territory, the hold decays and eventually flips. This makes territory control an ongoing commitment, not a one-time capture - a legion that wants to keep its bonuses has to defend its territory.

Territory Bonuses

Each territory has a configured Civitas bonus applied while it is held: members of the controlling legion earn bonus Civitas on their mine breaks in that territory's world. The size of the bonus is configured per territory and stacks across everything else you earn - so holding several territories compounds your legion income. If no legion (or no bonus-eligible legion) holds a territory, breaks there pay the base rate.

Tips

  1. Coordinate with your legion. Territory capture and defense is a team effort - solo players can't hold a territory against a rival legion.
  2. Stack territories with Outposts. Holding both an Outpost and adjacent territories compounds your legion's passive bonuses.
  3. Watch for rival movement. If a rival legion starts congregating in your territory, expect a contest - call in defenders.
  4. Bonuses apply only while online. Log off and you lose the territory bonus until you log back in, but the legion keeps holding it.
