Getting Started

Bedrock Guide

Play from any phone, console, or Windows 10/11 device via Geyser — no extra software.

You can play Imperium from Bedrock Edition — that means phones, tablets, consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch), and Windows 10/11. Everything works. Here is how to join and what to expect.

How to Join from Bedrock

  1. Open Minecraft (Bedrock Edition).
  2. Tap/click Play.
  3. Go to the Servers tab.
  4. Scroll all the way down and click Add Server.
  5. Fill in:
    • Server Name: ImperiumMC
    • Server Address: play.imperiummc.net
    • Port: 19132
  6. Click Save, then tap the server to join.

The connection runs through Geyser and Floodgate — bridge software that translates Bedrock to Java. You do not need to install anything extra. It just works.

First-Time Setup

The resource pack

When you first join, you will be asked to accept a resource pack. This adds custom textures (Roman-themed blocks, items, and UI). Accept it for the full experience.

  • On Bedrock, the pack downloads automatically.
  • If you decline, you can still play — things just look a bit different.
  • You can toggle the pack on/off later in Settings > Global Resources.

Signing in

You may get a Floodgate popup the first time. This is normal — it links your Bedrock account so your progress saves. Just follow the on-screen prompts.

What Works Differently on Bedrock

Most features are identical between Java and Bedrock. A few differences:

GUIs (Menus)

Some in-game menus on Java show as clickable chat text or simplified form menus on Bedrock. They do the same thing, they just look a bit different.

  • Form-based menus (the Bedrock-style pop-up windows with buttons) are used where Java uses chest inventories.
  • Click a button to navigate, just like on Java.
  • If a menu ever feels confusing, most features also have a command that does the same thing.

Controls

  • Mining: Tap and hold the screen (mobile) or hold the trigger (console).
  • Sneak: Double-tap the sneak button (mobile), or press the sneak button (console).
  • Sneak + right-click (used for mining abilities): Sneak, then tap/use an item.

Movement and combat

  • Bedrock movement and combat feel slightly different from Java — this is normal.
  • Use /pvpmode 1.8 for a combat style that feels better on touch/button controls (no cooldown, just tap to attack).

Which Features Are Form-Based

These Java chest-GUIs appear as form windows on Bedrock:

FeatureJavaBedrock
Main menu (/menu)Chest GUIMixed (chat links + forms)
Enchants (/enchant)Chest GUIForm menu or commands
Crates (/crate)Chest GUIForm menu or commands
Cosmetics (/cosmetics)Chest GUIForm menu or commands
Legion (/legion)Chest GUIForm menu or commands

If a GUI ever glitches or feels slow on Bedrock, use the command version instead. Every GUI has a matching command.

Common command alternatives

Instead of clicking in a GUIJust type
Sell all button/sellall
Rank up button/rankup
Open enchant menu/enchant
Open crate menu/crate open <type>
Teleport to a mine/mines
Open backpack/backpack

Performance Tips for Bedrock

Bedrock runs on phones and consoles, which are slower than gaming PCs. A few tips:

  1. Lower your render distance. In Settings > Video, turn Render Distance down to 6–10 chunks.
  2. Turn off fancy clouds and particles if your device is slow.
  3. Use /texturequality low to reduce texture pack effects and improve FPS.
  4. Stay near spawn if your device struggles — dense areas (like the PVP Mine) are heavier on performance.

Things to Know

  • Your account saves automatically. Log in from the same device and you keep your progress.
  • Cross-play is real. You play on the same server as Java players. You can chat, trade, mine, and PVP with them.
  • Voting works the same. Use your exact in-game name when voting.
  • Bedrock players are exempt from VPN detection by default, so you will not be kicked for your connection type.

Getting Help on Bedrock

If a GUI does not work or feels broken:

  1. Try the command version instead.
  2. Type /help for a list of commands.
  3. Type /next if you are stuck.
  4. Ask in chat — players and staff can help.
  5. Join our Discord for support.
