Progression

Prestige

Reset Rank 100 for permanent multipliers, titles, and the long climb to Summus Deus.

Prestige is Imperium's endgame progression loop. When you reach Rank 100, you can choose to reset back to Rank 1 in exchange for permanent bonuses that make every future run faster, richer, and stronger. There are 25 prestige levels, each stacking on the last, leading all the way up to the final title of Summus Deus.

The Prestige Loop

  1. Mine and sell to climb from Rank 1 to Rank 100.
  2. Meet the prestige requirements (Denarius, tokens, Aureus, playtime).
  3. Type /prestige to reset to Rank 1.
  4. Your prestige level goes up by one and permanent bonuses kick in.
  5. Climb again — faster this time, thanks to the bonuses.
  6. Repeat up to Prestige 25.

Your pickaxe, enchants, cosmetics, and currencies are all kept. Only your rank resets. The grind back to Rank 100 gets shorter every prestige because your multipliers snowball.

Requirements to Prestige

Type /prestige any time to see exactly what you still need. The requirements scale up with each prestige level:

RequirementDetail
Rank 100You must be at the top rank before the prestige option unlocks.
Denarius costA lump-sum Denarius payment that scales with your next prestige level.
Auctoritas costA token payment — usually meaningful but achievable for an active Rank 100.
Aureus costA small premium-currency cost. Save Aureus from voting and crates for this.
PlaytimeA minimum total playtime threshold so prestiging reflects real commitment.

The Aureus cost is the main bottleneck for most players. Vote daily, win Vote Top, and open crates to stockpile Aureus between prestiges.

What Prestige Gives You

Every prestige level grants the following permanent bonuses, all of which stack on top of your rank and enchant multipliers:

BonusPer prestigeAt Prestige 25 (max)
Sell multiplier+5% per prestige+125% sell value
Token multiplier+3% per prestige+75% Auctoritas
Mining multiplier+2% per prestige+50% mining speed
XP multiplier+1% per prestige+25% all XP
Enchant slot+1 slot per prestige+25 enchant slots
Auto-sell multiplier+10% per prestige+250% auto-sell value

The enchant slot bonus is the single most impactful: each prestige lets you equip one more enchant on your pickaxe, and enchants multiply each other. A Prestige 25 pickaxe with 35 enchant slots earns exponentially more than a Prestige 0 pickaxe with 10.

Prestige Titles

Each prestige level grants a unique Roman title shown next to your name in chat. Here are the milestone titles:

PrestigeTitle
1Primus Inter Pares ("First Among Equals")
2Restitutor ("Restorer")
3Restitutor Orbis ("Restorer of the World")
5Conditor ("Founder")
10Aeternus Augustus ("Eternal Emperor")
15Triumphalis Maximus
20Excelsus
25Summus Deus — The Eternal (maximum prestige)

The titles between milestones exist too — open /prestige to see the full ladder in-game.

Prestige Rewards

Reaching major prestige levels grants bonus one-time rewards:

PrestigeReward
1+100 Civitas
5+1,000 Civitas + a random pet
10+5,000 Civitas + 1 Aureus
15+10,000 Civitas + 2 Aureus
20+25,000 Civitas + 3 Aureus
25+100,000 Civitas + 10 Aureus + server-wide announcement

The Prestige 25 payout includes a server-wide announcement — the whole community sees that you have completed the cursus honorum.

Prestige vs /rankskip vs /rankup

Three different ways to move on the rank ladder. Know the difference:

PathCostResult
/rankup (Denarius)Mined Denarius onlyClimb one rank at a time. Free, just slow.
/rankskip (Aureus)Premium currencyInstantly jump a single rank. Fast but uses Aureus.
/prestigeDenarius + tokens + Aureus + playtimeResets rank to 1 but grants permanent multipliers. The real long game.

/rankskip is a single-rank shortcut using Aureus — useful for skipping a tedious rank, not for replacing prestige. Prestige is the only path that grants the permanent multipliers that define endgame power.

When to Prestige

  • Prestige as soon as you meet the requirements. The bonuses apply to your very next block — there is no benefit to waiting at Rank 100.
  • Sell your Sarcina first so you re-enter Rank 1 with Denarius in hand.
  • Bank any loose banknotes so they do not expire during a long session.
  • Stockpile Aureus between runs. Voting every day is how most free-to-play players fund their prestiges.

Don't fear the reset. Because your pickaxe, enchants, and multipliers carry over, Rank 1 after a prestige feels dramatically faster than your first time through. The snowball is the whole point.

The Long Game

Imperium is designed to take real time to fully complete:

GoalRealistic time for an active player
Rank 1 → 100 (first time)Around a year
Prestige 1~1 year (first prestige)
Prestige 5A couple of years; the snowball is noticeable
Prestige 25 (max)Multiple years of consistent play

Do not rush. Mine, sell, rank up, prestige, repeat — and enjoy the climb from prisoner to god-emperor.
