Wave Defense
Endless solo PvE — survive escalating waves of mobs for a per-wave Denarius payout that scales with depth.
Endless Wave Survival is Imperium's solo PvE endurance mode. Start a session, and waves of increasingly tough mobs spawn around you — more mobs, more health, more damage, every single wave. There is no win condition; the only goal is to survive as long as possible and bank the escalating per-wave rewards. Clear a wave, catch a 10-second breather, and brace for the next. It is the purest test of your gear, your build, and your nerve.
Starting a Session
A wave session begins wherever you stand. Run /wave start and the system locks in your current location as the spawn point — every mob will spawn within 5 blocks of that spot. Only one session can be active at a time server-wide, so if someone else is mid-run, you will have to wait.
- Travel to a safe, open area with room to kite — this is your arena.
- Run
/wave start. A dragon-growl sound confirms the session is live. - Wave 1 spawns immediately. Kill every mob to clear it.
- A 10-second break begins, then the next wave spawns automatically.
- Repeat until you die, leave, or run
/wave stop.
If you log out or disconnect mid-session, the session ends immediately and the remaining mobs are despawned. Your reached wave is still recorded, but you cannot pause a run — once you start, commit to finishing it.
Wave Scaling — It Gets Harder Fast
Each wave is tougher than the last along three axes simultaneously: mob count, mob health, and mob damage. The scaling is linear but unforgiving, and the per-wave reward scales with it — so deeper waves pay far more per clear than early ones.
| Stat | Scaling formula |
|---|---|
| Mob count | min(wave, 20) — capped at 20 mobs per wave |
| Mob health | 20 + (wave × 15) — Wave 1 = 35hp, Wave 10 = 170hp, capped at 1024hp |
| Mob damage | 5 + (wave × 0.5) — Wave 1 = 5.5 dmg, Wave 20 = 15 dmg |
| Reward per clear | wave × $10,000 — Wave 1 = $10K, Wave 10 = $100K, Wave 50 = $500K |
The mob count caps at 20 per wave, but health and damage keep climbing with no cap (only the hard 1024hp Minecraft ceiling on health). This means late waves are not about being swarmed — they are about surviving focused, hard-hitting mobs that can two- or three-shot an undergeared player.
The Mob Mix
Each wave spawns a random mix drawn from four mob types. The composition reshuffles every wave, so you cannot predict whether you will face a skeleton-heavy wave that punishes melee or a wither-skeleton wave that melts your health. Adaptability matters.
| Mob | Notes |
|---|---|
| Zombie | Standard melee pressure — the backbone of every wave. |
| Skeleton | Ranged attackers that punish players caught in the open. |
| Spider | Fast and able to climb — hard to escape by running. |
| Wither Skeleton | High-damage melee that applies Wither — the deadliest of the four. |
Wave mobs are tagged so they drop no vanilla loot and no XP — the only reward for clearing is the Denarius payout per wave. This keeps the economy clean and prevents wave sessions from being farmed for mob drops.
Clearing a Wave & the Break
A wave is cleared when the last tagged mob in it dies. The moment it does, every surviving player hears a level-up chime, gets an action-bar message showing the Denarius payout, and the reward is credited instantly. Then a 10-second breakbegins before the next wave spawns automatically — use it to eat, heal, reposition, and reload.
The break is the only downtime. There is no voting, no between-wave shop, no save point. If you are low on health or gear when the break ends, the next wave spawns whether you are ready or not.
Rewards & Records
The Denarius payout is wave × $10,000, paid per cleared wave. A 10-wave run pays a total of $550,000 (the sum of waves 1 through 10); a 20-wave run pays over $2 million. The deeper you go, the more lucrative each individual wave becomes, which is the incentive to push rather than farm early waves.
Your personal best wave is saved permanently in the database. Run/wave to see your record, and /wave leaderboard to see the top 10 wave survivors on the server. Because records persist, the leaderboard is a long-term prestige board — breaking into the top 10 means outlasting the server's best-geared players.
Ending a Session
A session ends in one of three ways: you die (the run is over), you run/wave stop manually (you keep your reached wave), or you log out (the session ends and despawns the mobs). In all cases, your reached wave is recorded if it beats your personal best. Stop a run on purpose if you are about to die — there is no penalty for stopping, and you bank everything you have cleared so far.
Commands
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
/wave | Show the current session status and your personal best wave. |
/wave start | Start an endless wave session at your current location. Only one session can run at a time. |
/wave stop | End the active wave session. Your reached wave is recorded. |
/wave status | Show the current wave number and how many mobs remain alive. |
/wave leaderboard | View the top 10 players by highest wave reached. (alias: /wave top) |
Tips
- Pick a defensible arena. A chokepoint or a wall at your back means mobs come from fewer directions — huge for surviving ranged waves.
- Bring food and potions. The 10-second break is short; pre-stack regeneration and strength potions to survive the bursty late waves.
- Prioritize wither skeletons. They hit hardest and apply Wither — kill them first or they will melt you through armor.
- Stop before you die. Running
/wave stopbanks your reached wave and your rewards. Dying does the same for the record, but stopping on your terms lets you end a good run cleanly. - Deeper waves pay disproportionately. Wave 20 pays $200,000 in a single clear — the economy rewards pushing deep over restarting for easy early waves.
- Stack a money booster. Wave payouts are Denarius deposits, so a money booster multiplies every wave clear for the duration of your run.
- Watch the leaderboard. Knowing the server record tells you what wave to aim for — and gives you a target to chase for bragging rights.
