Player Cells

Rent a private plot to build, store gear, and afk in peace — your own Roman villa.

A player cell is your own private plot of Roman real estate. Rent one to build, store gear permanently, run farms, and have a home base you can teleport back to. Cells are where players set up shop outside the busy public mines and the spawn hub.

What a Cell Is

A cell is a regioned plot of land that belongs to you for as long as you pay rent. Inside, you can:

  • Place and access storage chests for permanent item storage.
  • Build whatever you like (within the server rules) — a villa, a workshop, a farm.
  • Set a cell warp so you can teleport home instantly.
  • Invite friends so they can share the space.
  • Step away from the keyboard safely, away from public PVP areas.

Cells are separate from your vault. The /vault is a portable shared inventory that travels with you; a cell is a physical place you build in. Many players use both.

How to Rent a Cell

  1. Type /cell to open the cell menu.
  2. Browse available tiers and pick one that fits your budget.
  3. Pay the initial rent in Denarius.
  4. You are teleported to your new plot, ready to build.

Rent is paid in Denarius on a recurring cycle. Type /cell info any time to see when your next payment is due and how much it costs.

Storage: Cells vs Vault vs Sarcina

Imperium gives you three storage systems. They serve different purposes:

StorageWhat it holdsHow to access
Sarcina (mining backpack)Mined blocks only. Unlimited size. Auto-sold by /sellall./backpack
Vault (player vaults)Items you want to carry across sessions. Travels with you./vault (alias /pv)
Cell chestsPermanent physical storage in your plot. Stays put.Walk to your cell — /cell home

Use the vault for gear you take mining; use cell chests for long-term hoards, collections, and backup gear.

Teleporting Home

Your cell comes with a built-in warp. Type /cell home from anywhere to teleport back to your plot. There is a short warm-up (a few seconds) and the usual combat-tag rules apply — you cannot teleport while combat-tagged.

You can also set a regular /sethome inside your cell for an additional home-slot teleport, or share the cell warp with friends using /cell invite.

Inviting Visitors

  • /cell invite <player> — gives a player access to enter and build.
  • /cell uninvite <player> — revokes that access.
  • /cell public — toggles whether anyone can visit (read-only by default).
  • /cell visit <player> — visit a friend's cell if they have made it public or invited you.

Be careful who you grant build access. Trusted friends only — a builder with access can take items from your chests. Use the public (view-only) toggle for visitors you do not fully trust.

Rent and Eviction

Rent auto-renews if you have enough Denarius when the cycle ends. If you do not:

  • Your cell enters a grace period during which you can still enter and reclaim your items.
  • After the grace period, the plot is freed and another player can rent it.
  • Items left in chests after eviction are held for you to claim for a limited time — do not abandon a cell without emptying it.

To surrender voluntarily, use /cell evict. Your items in chests remain claimable during the grace period so you can retrieve them.

Type /cell info regularly to see your rent due date. Rent is the one bill in Imperium you do not want to miss — losing a decorated plot is painful.

Tips for Cell Owners

  1. Keep rent money in your balance. Auto-renew only works if you have enough Denarius on the cycle.
  2. Use chests, not the floor. Items dropped on the ground can despawn; chested items are safe.
  3. Build smart farms. Cells are the only place to run crop and mob farms away from public grief.
  4. Back up rare gear. Keep a second set of armor in a cell chest so a PVP death never leaves you empty-handed.
  5. Decorate. Cells are your space to show off. Many players build elaborate Roman villas.
  6. Coordinate with your legion. Some legions share a member's cell as a meeting hall.
