Enchants

170+ Roman-themed enchantments across 18 categories that turn your pickaxe into a money-printing machine.

Enchants are special powers you put on your pickaxe. They make you mine faster, earn more money, drop more tokens, and trigger awesome effects. Imperium ships over 170 pickaxe enchantments across 18 categories - this is the single biggest way to grow your income.

How to Open the Enchant Menu

Type /enchant (or /pickaxe) while holding your pickaxe. A menu opens showing all the enchants you can buy.

You pay for enchants with one of the four currencies - usually Auctoritas (tokens). Some powerful enchants cost Denarius, Civitas, or even Aureus.

The Basics

Buying an enchant

  1. Open /enchant.
  2. Click an enchant to see its description and cost.
  3. Click again to buy a level. Each click adds one level.
  4. The cost goes up each level - level 1 is cheap, level 50 is very expensive.

Enchant slots

Your pickaxe can only hold a limited number of different enchants at once. This is your slot cap.

  • Base cap: 20 enchants for everyone (raised from 10 on 2026-08-20).
  • +2 slots per prestige level.
  • +1 slot per 25 ranks climbed (rank milestones).
  • Donor tiers each contribute their authored slot bonus (they stack across tiers).
  • A fully-stacked player tops out around 46 distinct enchants of the 177 catalog.

You have to choose which enchants matter most to you. Pick wisely.

Max levels

Every enchant has a maximum level. Some cap at 10, some go all the way to 10,000. The menu shows the max for each one.

Unlock requirements

Many enchants require a certain rank or prestige before you can buy them. The menu tells you the requirement if you cannot buy one yet.

Enchant Books

Some enchants come as physical books you can hold, trade, and apply.

Applying a book

  1. Hold the enchanted book in your hand.
  2. Hold the pickaxe you want to enchant in your other hand (or have it in your inventory).
  3. The book applies the enchant to the pickaxe (if the pickaxe has a free slot and meets requirements).

Extracting (turning an enchant back into a book)

If you want to remove an enchant from your pickaxe and turn it into a tradeable book, use the extract option in the /enchant menu. This lets you swap enchants without losing them.

Fusing (combining books)

Two enchant books of the same type and level can be fused into a single higher-level book. Use the fusing option in the enchant menu. This is how you build very high-level enchant books over time.

Active Abilities (Mining Powers)

Three enchants are actually active abilities you trigger on purpose. Trigger them by sneaking and right-clicking with your pickaxe (or use /ability cast <name>).

AbilityEffectCooldown
Super Breaker30 seconds of instant-break mining + 2x token drops.5 min
Mass DetonateInstantly destroys every block within 10 blocks of you.10 min
Token Storm60 seconds of 2x Auctoritas token drops.10 min

Unlock these from the abilities menu (/ability). They cost Auctoritas or Civitas to unlock permanently.

Pro tip: Save Mass Detonate for when you are surrounded by valuable ores - it can clear a fortune in a single click.

Which Currency Each Enchant Costs

Most enchants cost Auctoritas (tokens), but the strongest ones cost other currencies. Roughly:

CurrencyWhat kind of enchants it buys
AuctoritasThe default. 90%+ of enchants, including all early-game buys.
DenariusMid-tier money enchants and some utility enchants.
CivitasLegion-themed enchants and a few high-end upgrades.
AureusThe most powerful enchants in the game - prestige and endgame tiers.

This is why a balanced economy matters: you mine for Denarius and Auctoritas, contribute to a legion for Civitas, and vote for Aureus. Every currency feeds your pickaxe eventually.

Re-Specing: Extract, Fuse, Swap

You are never locked into an enchant choice. The enchant menu lets you completely rearrange your build:

Extract

Pull an enchant off your pickaxe and turn it into a tradeable book. You keep the levels you bought. Useful when you outgrow an enchant or want to sell it on the Auction House.

Fuse

Combine two identical books of the same level into a single higher-level book. This is how dedicated miners build absurdly high-level enchant books over time - fuse hundreds of small books into one monster.

Apply

Hold a book in your hand and the target pickaxe in your other hand (or inventory) to apply it - if the pickaxe has a free slot and meets the requirements. Books are also tradeable via /trade and the AH.

Workflow: mine with cheap enchants early, extract them into books when you unlock better ones, fuse the books up, and either re-equip or sell them. Nothing is wasted.

Tips for Choosing Enchants

  1. Start with passive money and token enchants. Denarius Boost, Auctoritas Boost, and the multipliers should be your first purchases.
  2. Pick a focus. With a limited number of slots, you cannot have everything. Some players focus on money, others on tokens, others on explosions for fast clearing.
  3. Check unlock requirements. Do not waste a slot on an enchant you will outgrow - some unlock better versions at higher ranks.
  4. Combo enchants love streaks. If you mine non-stop, combo and compound-interest enchants are extremely strong.
  5. Re-spec when needed. You can extract enchants back into books to rearrange your build.
  6. Prestige for more slots. Each prestige grants +2 enchant slots - the single biggest long-term power increase for your pickaxe.
  7. Fuse, do not re-buy. Extracting and fusing books preserves your investment. Re-buying from scratch wastes tokens.
